CABINET REFINISHING

Looking for an Affordable Kitchen Upgrade?

The kitchen is the heart of the home, and it can easily take a beating over the years! There are a variety of ways you can update your kitchen on a variety of budgets, from inexpensive DIY solutions such as adding tile or backsplash, to a full-blown remodel.

Cabinet Refinishing is a great middle option for homeowners who want more than a DIY weekend upgrade, but who also do not want the cost of a full remodel.

  • Before any work begins, Mel or Jen will come to your home to take a closer look at your cabinets and help you finalize your color selections/hardware.

We offer a range of additions, from soft close hinges to filling old hardware holes and drilling for new hardware. We can also discuss adding custom woodwork, such as crown molding.

  • Monday (ON SITE): We remove your cabinet doors and drawer fronts from your kitchen and carefully transport them back to our shop.

Tuesday - Friday (AT OUR SHOP):  Each door and drawer goes through an extensive prep process, including cleaning to remove years of accumulated dirt, repairing damage, filling nicks and dings, and sanding using our state of the art Surf Prep sanders. We then spray 2 coats of high-build primer using our American made TriTech T4, sand again, and top coat with an industrial water-based pigmented polyurethane coating that exceeds the standards set by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturing Association. With this level of prep and attention to detail, your kitchen should last a long time.

  • Monday/Tuesday (ON SITE):  Once the doors and drawers are completed in our shop, we will arrive on site to spray your bases. We begin by setting up our spray booth. We then mask, clean, sand and caulk followed by priming and top coating.

We use high quality tools to maintain a safe environment while we spray onsite, including an air scrubber for client comfort, LED lighting to make sure we get all areas, proper ventilation and an intake and exhaust fan to minimize dust/overspray and keep air moving.

Wednesday (ON SITE): We finish by installing the doors, drawers and hardware.

OUR PROCESS

This video shows a small part of our prep process. Proper cleaning, sanding, and priming is THE foundation for an excellent and durable topcoat.
